Yes. We will have access to EPIC, the record keeping system of Maine Health.  This means that if you go to an ER, get hospitalized in one of the Maine Health facilities or see a specialist who practices in the Maine Health system, we will have access to those records.<\/li><li><strong>Will you remain affiliated with SMHC<\/strong>?\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0We will maintain active privileges at SMHC.   <\/li><li><strong>Who is this practice for?<\/strong> This is an ideal model for those with chronic medical problems that need an internist for regular monitoring and care coordination. It also for any patient who desires easy access to their physician and consistent personalized care.\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Are you available at all hours?\u00a0<\/strong>Under the Access Model, you\u00a0can\u00a0reach your doctor\u00a0directly after hours for urgent matters. Non-urgent matters should still be managed during office hours.<\/li><li><strong>I don&#8217;t feel well, what should I do?<\/strong>\u00a0Call.\u00a0We will make every effort to help you. We can see\u00a0you on the same day or the next day. We may also advise you to use the emergency room depending on severity of symptoms.<\/li><li><strong>Can I keep my specialists?<\/strong>\u00a0Of course you can. We will work with them to ensure your care is well coordinated.<\/li><li><strong>Can I use a walk in clinic?<\/strong>\u00a0Yes, you can.\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>What if I cannot pay the $500 up front?<\/strong>\u00a0 We understand that the cost of being part of our practice is not accessible to all.\u00a0We will work to customize a payment plan with you on an &#8220;as needed&#8221; basis.\u00a0Please reach out to discuss options.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Will you have access to my medical records in EPIC?
